Announcement of Zen2.0 2024

2024年6月30日

〜Touching The Earth〜

This year's event, the 8th, will be held at Kenchoji Temple in Kitakamakura, as last year, and will be a hybrid of real and online events.

This year's program will be more global and diverse than ever before. In addition to Zen and mindfulness, we will be deepening our understanding of the title "Touching The Earth" through dialogue with speakers from Japan and around the world on a wide range of themes such as "soil," "body," "fungus," and "environment," which will help us become aware of the connection between the earth and our bodies.

In addition to interactive sessions that allow participants to gain access to the latest wisdom, there will also be a number of programs that emphasize "experience" and "dialogue" for all participants.

This year's theme is "Sitting on the Earth - Touching the Earth". While the world continues to be in turmoil due to war, important elections are scheduled in more than 60 countries, including the United States. Furthermore, while the rapid development of AI promises to be a breakthrough for humanity, there are also concerns about widening inequalities and intensifying feelings of division.

Nor is the slow progress in resolving environmental issues a matter of concern for others. In order to leave a beautiful future to our descendants, it is also important for us to deepen our understanding of the concept of "planetary health" that the entire earth including human beings is one organic system and closely connected, and the mechanism that the natural environment closest to us is our "intestinal environment," which is the "soil" where we put down roots. It is also an important issue for us.

At a time like this, is it ever difficult to see clear leadership and direction, and do you ever feel a sense of difficulty in deciding what to turn to? I believe that now is the time for each of us, as vast and benevolent beings like the earth, to be firmly rooted in the ground and awaken our inner leadership.

At this year's Zen2.0, we will review our relationship with the earth through Zen and mindfulness practices, seek inner peace and harmony with the outside world, and engage in deep dialogue with the speakers and participants. We sincerely look forward to your participation as a first step toward a sustainable future.
