Born in Fukui Prefecture in 1973. After graduating from Tokyo Gakugei University, he worked in the communications industry for 17 years after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. In 2010, he was selected as a member of the first class of SoftBank Academia, an institution for training successors to CEO Masayoshi Son (current chairman), and won first place for the year. He is involved in planning, creating, and directing presentation materials for CEO Son.
He is also active as an outside director for SoftBank Group companies and a certified SoftBank instructor. In December 2013, he left SoftBank to become independent.
He gives lectures, training, and consulting at more than 200 companies a year, including SoftBank, Benesse Corporation, 7-Eleven, McDonald's, Shochiku, and J.League. His books have sold more than 450,000 copies in total. His books have been translated into Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese, Thai, and other languages, and he also gives lectures overseas.
He has been involved in calligraphy since he was 5 years old, and after graduating from the calligraphy department of the Faculty of Education at Tokyo Gakugei University, he started his career as an independent calligrapher and currently runs a calligraphy school called TUGUMI, which has 700 students nationwide. He has worked on many projects, including Softbank's "Ambition High," JAXA's "Stork," J-League's "Absolute Breakthrough," Toyota's "Challenge," and the "Flowers, Birds, Wind, and Moon" sliding door calligraphy of the former Kosaka residence, an important cultural property, while also performing live at the national treasure Hikone Castle and holding solo exhibitions, and is active in a wide range of fields around the world, including the United States, Asia, Europe, and South America.
