He graduated from the Graduate School of Music, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He has made blowing Zen, the original performance of the shakuhachi, his life's work, and is spreading the shakuhachi from Kamakura, the city of Zen. He has found commonalities between his own philosophy from childhood and Zen philosophy, and has also studied physicality through yoga, Rolfing, Alexander Technique, and Chinese Qigong. He embodies one stream of Zen by picking bamboo and making shakuhachi (bamboo flute) by himself. He has opened the shakuhachi dojo "Kyodo" at the Kenchoji temple tower in Kitakamakura and in Hakone, where he teaches the connection between the body and mind through the shakuhachi. In March 2020, he established LENZAN ART production.　His activities include composing music, total production of performances, and writing essays.
